Motor Vehicle Mechanic

Responsibilities

• Perform vehicle inspections and diagnostic checks.
• Carry out routine maintenance and servicing.
• Repair and replace faulty mechanical and electrical components.
• Conduct engine, transmission, brake, steering, suspension, and cooling system repairs.
• Diagnose vehicle faults using diagnostic equipment.
• Perform wheel alignment and tyre-related repairs when required.
• Test-drive vehicles to verify repairs and performance.
• Maintain accurate service and repair records.
• Follow workplace safety procedures and manufacturer guidelines.
• Keep tools, equipment, and work areas clean and organized.
• Report major defects and recommend necessary repairs to supervisors or customers.
• Assist in ordering and managing spare parts inventory.

Requirements

• Relevant experience in vehicle repair and maintenance.
• Knowledge of automotive mechanical and electrical systems.
• Ability to use diagnostic tools and workshop equipment.
• Ability to read technical manuals and repair instructions.
• Good problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Valid driving licence preferred.
