About the role

A Postdoctoral Fellow position in the Rheumatology Division is available in the laboratory of Dr. Timothy Niewold at the Hospital for Special Surgery affiliated with Weill Cornell Medicine in New York City. The main focus of the lab is to understand the genetic pathogenesis of autoimmune diseases. This position will involve state-of-the-art molecular and genomic approaches and patient-derived samples to query autoimmune disease pathogenesis.

• Proficient use of computers and software
• Knowledge of statistics and Rheumatologic terminology is a plus.
• Ideal candidates must have good written/oral communication skills in English.
• The Hospital for Special Surgery is embedded in a vibrant research environment encompassing Weill Cornell Medicine, Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, and Rockefeller University.
• YEARS OF EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
• Completion of PhD or MD training
• PHYSICAL WORKING CONDITIONS
• Continuously stand/walk or lift/handle/carry material or equipment of light to moderate weight
• ENVIRONMENTAL WORKING CONDITIONS
• Indoor area with laboratory benches and equipment, chairs, and computers.

• Category 1 Tasks that involve exposure to blood, body fluids, tissues, and other potentially infectious materials.

Emp Status Regular Full time Work Shift Compensation Range The base pay scale for this position is $71,564.06 - $78,010.40. In addition, this position will be eligible for additional benefits consistent with the role. The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be determined based on various factors, including but not limited to: scope of role, level of experience, education, accomplishments, internal equity, budget, and subject to Fair Market Value evaluation. The hiring range listed is a good faith determination of potential compensation at the time of this job advertisement and may be modified in the future.
