About the role

We are seeking a highly skilled AppOps DBA to join our Technology & Engineering team. In this role, you will play a key part in developing, operationalizing, and supporting next-generation on-premises and cloud database solutions. You will provide technical leadership across Oracle, Exadata, and Aurora PostgreSQL platforms, helping to ensure high availability, scalability, security, and operational excellence across mission-critical environments. Working closely with Development, QA, Platform Engineering, and AppOps teams, you will contribute to automation-led database operations, cloud transformation initiatives, and continuous performance optimization in a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and optimize Oracle, PostgreSQL, Aurora, AWS RDS, and Exadata database environments to ensure performance, reliability, and availability.
  • Lead database operationalization initiatives including automation, observability, resiliency, backup, recovery, replication, and disaster recovery strategies.
  • Support and influence cloud migration programs from Oracle on-premises environments to AWS-based Oracle and Aurora PostgreSQL platforms.
  • Implement CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code practices, and intelligent automation to streamline deployment and operational processes.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, product, and support teams while participating in rotating on-call production support activities.

Requirements

  • Strong hands-on experience managing Oracle Exadata, AWS RDS, Oracle, and Aurora PostgreSQL database environments.
  • Expertise in AWS technologies including EC2, S3, Aurora, Redshift, AWS DMS, and AWS Schema Conversion Tool (SCT).
  • Deep understanding of database architecture, SQL tuning, PL/SQL, performance optimization, backup and recovery strategies, and high-availability design.
  • Experience with DevOps methodologies, container platforms such as Kubernetes and Docker, and Infrastructure as Code tools including Terraform, CloudFormation, and Ansible.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and technical documentation skills, with the ability to work effectively across business and technical teams.
