ROLE SUMMARY The incumbent will be required to prepare and present academic related content by teaching on all programmes offered by the faculty, be involved in assessment setting, marking and result collation, be involved in student clinical learning, complete relevant administrative responsibilities, and support general campus related activities. KEY WORK OUTPUT AND ACCOUNTABILITIES OPERATIONAL EXCELLENCE - Planning and preparation of assigned learning events in line with programme curriculums - Setting up formal lesson plans - Teaching and facilitation on all programmes offered by the faculty - Undergraduate programmes - AHA and ITLS programmes - First Aid courses - CPD related activities - Setting and marking of assessments - Facilitate clinical learning shifts for students - Ensure high academic standard is maintained for all programmes in line with learning outcomes and curriculums - Ensuring medical equipment is appropriately allocated for practical sessions, stored and maintained - Completion of administrative tasks as per programme specific requirements and set time frames (keeping of attendance registers, student record keeping, pre and post moderation reports collated and placed on record) - Support campus related activities as per addendum - Ensure occupational health and safety regulations are adhered to and shortcomings reported to the campus manager or OHS representative BEST AND SAFEST PATIENT CARE - Updating own knowledge through formal and informal learning - Maintaining annual HPCSA registration - Complying with annual CPD requirements - Clinical currency - Ensure operational readiness and maintenance of campus PRV (equipment, medical stock and medications) - Timely completion of Electronic Patient Report Form (EPRF) as per Netcare 911 policy GROWING WITH PASSIONATE PEOPLE - Participate in faculty activities - Take responsibility for own growth and development including clinical currency - Active mentoring, guidance, and feedback to students - Identifying and managing at-risk students ORGANISATIONAL GROWTH - Must be familiar with Netcare Group, Netcare Education and faculty policies - Participate in client relation activities, and strive to maintain existing client relationships (students, Netcare 911 and Netcare Hospital Group) - Be an ambassador for the faculty SKILLS PROFILE EDUCATION Essential - HPCSA registered ECP qualification - ACLS, PALS and ITLS certification Preferred - AHA and ITLS Advanced instructor qualifications - Assessor, Facilitator and Moderator - Studying towards master's degree in either EMC or Education - Studying towards a formal education qualification WORK EXPERIENCE Essential - Minimum of two years operational experience Preferred - One year experience in education - Tutoring, clinical mentoring and assessment experience of EMC students KNOWLEDGE Essential - Computer literacy - Communication skills Preferred - Education qualification PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS In the event of any physical or psychological limitation that may impair the employee's ability to perform the required job function, the employee must consult the employer for reasonable accommodation.
