About the role

Marmon Industrial Water designs and manufactures advanced water and wastewater treatment solutions through our trusted brands, Graver Water Systems and Ecodyne. Our technologies serve some of the world's most demanding industries - petrochemical, chemical, power generation, and heavy industrial plants. From raw water pretreatment and ion exchange to wastewater treatment, cooling, and oil/water separation, our systems play a critical role in keeping essential industries running efficiently and sustainably. We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer for our Burlington, ON office. In this role, you will support the design, analysis, and development of water and wastewater treatment systems and equipment. You will work closely with senior engineers, designers, and cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions that meet client specifications, industry standards, and project schedules. Responsibilities

  • Support and lead the mechanical design of pressure vessels, piping systems, skids, and packaged equipment for industrial water treatment applications.
  • Review and check detailed drawings, general arrangements, P&IDs, fabrication details, and BOMs.
  • Select and specify equipment such as pumps, valves, and mechanical components to meet project and process requirements.
  • Enter and manage engineering data, parts, and BOMs within the company's ERP system to support manufacturing and supply chain activities.
  • Ensure designs comply with ASME, ANSI, and other relevant codes and standards.
  • Perform and review engineering calculations to support designs.
  • Collaborate with project managers, electrical engineers, and process engineers to ensure integrated system designs.
  • Review vendor drawings and technical documentation to ensure alignment with project requirements.
  • Support manufacturing and field service teams during fabrication, assembly, testing, and commissioning.
  • Participate in design reviews, risk assessments, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Engage with clients and stakeholders to clarify requirements, resolve technical issues, and support project execution.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
  • 4+ years of relevant engineering experience.
  • Licensed as a Professional Engineer.
  • Strong technical knowledge of mechanical engineering principles, industrial water treatment equipment, and applicable codes and standards, including ASME, AWWA, and API.
  • Proficiency with design tools and software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and/or PDMS.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of presenting technical information to both internal and external stakeholders clearly and concisely.
  • Collaborative team player who works effectively in cross-functional environments.
  • Well-developed problem-solving, critical thinking, and time management skills, with strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
  • Continuous learning mindset and adaptability to new tools, standards, and engineering practices.
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Working knowledge of COMPRESS or CAESAR is an asset.
  • Additional Information
  • Hybrid Policy in effect - requires 3 days in office per week
  • Role may require up to 5% travel annually within North America.
  • Physical demands may vary and could include extended periods of sitting, standing, and occasional lifting of objects.
