Responsibilities

  • Inspect and service facility utility equipment and systems; keep the designated Facilities Services Manager informed of infrastructure needs or required changes to maintain safe and reliable operations.
  • Coordinate the preventative maintenance program for all utility and infrastructure systems, including chillers, boilers, cooling towers, medical gas systems, water treatment programs, water distribution systems, building management systems, emergency generators, and associated components.
  • Monitor and modify preventive maintenance programs to ensure maximum effectiveness and provide all required documentation.
  • Work with other divisions and departments to meet infrastructure and utility maintenance, installation, and construction needs; negotiate priorities, plan work schedules, and assign job tasks.
  • Recommend the use of outside mechanical and utility specialty contractors as appropriate.
  • Oversee and monitor outside mechanical and utility specialty contractors to ensure compliance with established healthcare standards.
  • Schedule and monitor maintenance repair work, alterations, and renovation upgrades to facility infrastructure systems.
  • Oversee infrastructure construction, installation, and commissioning activities to ensure system integrity and compliance.
  • Instruct personnel regarding infrastructure and utility hazards and provide training, guidance, and oversight for safe equipment operation.
  • Coordinate infrastructure parts, materials, and supplies within budgetary constraints; maintain replacement schedules and capital equipment records.
  • Determine department specifications for infrastructure and utility system components.
  • Review materials and installations during construction and remodeling projects to ensure quality and compliance.
  • Maintain records to ensure compliance with all applicable Authorities Having Jurisdiction, including local, state, and federal regulatory codes.
  • Attend required code compliance and regulatory update trainings.
  • Perform all duties in accordance with established policies, procedures, regulatory and accreditation requirements, and professional standards.
  • Provide excellent customer service by demonstrating organizational core and leadership behaviors.
  • Work independently under general supervision while interacting with staff, patients, physicians, visitors, regulatory agencies, inspectors, contractors, and vendors.
  • May oversee the work of staff and/or vendors as required.

  • Pay Rate: $37.49 per hour
  • Hours: Full-Time, 40 hours per week
  • Shift Schedule: Midshift | 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM
  • Days Off: Sunday & Monday
  • Working Days: Tuesday through Saturday
  • REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Minimum of three (3) years of diversified experience as a plant mechanic, stationary engineer, boiler operator, refrigeration mechanic, or related field with demonstrated advanced skills in plant operations.
