SOLAR TECH 1 Job Summary Position is responsible for basic solar operational and maintenance tasks including basic troubleshooting, manual mowing, tooling maintenance and inspections, basic Preventative Maintenance, Snow Plowing/shoveling, basic Lockout/Tagout, component replacement, & equipment hauling. Under direct guidance from Solar Technician II and Lead Solar Technician, assist with higher level solar field duties. Essential Functions Maintains all tools, shops, vehicles, and work locations in a safe and efficient condition Provides basic inspection of electrical and mechanical components of solar arrays Tracker System Maintenance and Troubleshooting Performs basic DC System Maintenance Perform basic Lockout/Tagout activities Performs basic PM work, corrective work, and component replacement on photovoltaic & inverter Systems Snowplow as required to access components Perform manual mowing of solar fields Maintain solar farm maintenance records in specified work management system across multiple devices Assist Solar Technician I and the Lead Solar Technician to perform other related duties as assigned that support the safe, efficient, and reliable operation, maintenance, and advancement of photovoltaic and Battery Energy Storage System assets. These may include tasks associated with emerging technologies, or site-specific needs, provided they fall within the technician's training and classification. Required Qualifications For Position High School /GED Internal bidders will not be required to pass the CAST or MAT (Mechanical Aptitude Test) to be an eligible bidder DL NUMBER - Driver License, Valid and in State SOLAR TECH 2 Job Summary In addition to the responsibilities of a Solar Technician I, the Solar Technician II is responsible for AC system troubleshooting and maintenance, Battery Energy Storage System troubleshooting and maintenance, and all Lockout/Tagout implementation. Essential Functions Maintains all tools, shops, vehicles, and work locations in a safe and efficient condition Provides basic inspection of electrical, mechanical, and electronic troubleshooting for solar arrays and Battery Energy Storage Systems AC/DC System Maintenance and Troubleshooting PM work, corrective work, and component replacement on Battery Energy Storage & photovoltaic systems Breaker Racking & Troubleshooting Perform Lockout/Tagout implementation Perform other related duties as assigned that support the safe, efficient, and reliable operation, maintenance, and advancement of photovoltaic and Battery Energy Storage System assets. These may include tasks associated with emerging technologies, or site-specific needs, provided they fall within the technician's training and classification. Required Qualifications For Position High School Diploma / GED Internal bidders will not be required to pass the CAST or MAT (Mechanical Aptitude Test) to be an eligible bidder One of the following: o If bidding from a higher classification - passing a prequalification test will be required to obtain the Solar Technician II position prior to being eligible to accept and report to the position o If bidding from a lower or equal classification - in addition to passing a prequalification test, individuals must have been in the Solar Technician I role for a minimum of one (1) year prior to being eligible to accept and report to the position DL NUMBER - Driver License, Valid and in State Upon Hire The preceding description is not designed to be a complete list of all duties and responsibilities required of the position.
