About the role
This is a permanent, full-time Project Accountant role based at our Alexandria head office , offering a hybrid working arrangement . Reporting into Energy Solutions Finance, you will support the delivery of key projects and finance transformation initiatives by providing timely, accurate and decision-useful financial information. The role works closely with Project Managers, IT, Operations and the wider Finance team to ensure strong financial governance, effective CAPEX and OPEX management, and successful integration of new systems and processes to support business growth.
Responsibilities
- Act as the Finance representative for Energy Solutions projects, ensuring new projects and processes are integrated seamlessly into financial systems and reporting
- Ensure financial results are accurately and timely recorded, minimising manual effort through automation where possible
- Support month-end close activities for projects, including journals, accruals, balance sheet reconciliations and project-level reporting
- Own Energy Solutions project capex and opex forecasting, ensuring forecasts are accurate, clearly understood and fit for decision making
- Support finance transformation initiatives, including implementation and enhancement of processes aligned to financial controls scorecard initiatives
- Develop and enhance finance processes to ensure organisational capability remains efficient, effective and aligned with industry best practice
- Qualifications & Experience
- 3+ years of experience in accounting or finance, ideally within project accounting, commercial operations or finance systems in a complex organisation
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting standards
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a project-based environment
- Experience using accounting systems such as SAP ECC6, with exposure to system implementation or enhancement highly desirable
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to partner effectively across cross-functional teams
