Requirements

  • A sound knowledge and background in geriatric, rehabilitation or long-term care nursing including activation, nursing, and personnel administration.
  • Knowledge of The Nursing Homes Act and Regulations, Homes for Special Care Act, Extended Care Program Directives, the appropriate sections of The Health Disciplines Act, Occupational Health & Safety Act, Pharmacy Act, Food & Drugs Act (Canada), Narcotic Control Act (Canada) and other pertinent federal, provincial, and municipal Statutes, which influence the operation of the residence and more specifically the nursing department.
  • Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
  • Post graduate studies in nursing, nursing administration and geriatrics is considered an asset.
  • Salary Range: $94,000.00 - $103,000.00 per year
  • Salary placement based on qualifications and experience.

Ensures that care plans are developed, updated, reviewed regularly, and followed consistently.Audits resident care plans on a quarterly basis and ensures documentation accurately reflects the resident's care requirements.Responds to resident or family concerns and ensures appropriate action is taken within decision-making authority and/or brings to the attention of the Director of Care.Health insurance
