Serjeant-at-Arms (Part-time)

Responsibilities

• Ensure the safekeeping and proper handling of the Mace when in physical possession
• Perform the ceremonial drill, marching and foot drill for the carrying of the Mace
• Remain vigilant in the Chamber throughout the sitting to wait on the Speaker's orders, and ready to act under Speaker's authority to remove any offensive person from the premises in event of a disturbance in the Chamber or in the Public Galleries;
• Assist to co-ordinate and manage ushers

Requirements

• Minimum 5years of service experience in SAF, SPF, or SCDF, with preference for candidates who have attained at least the equivalent rank of First Sergeant.
• Ability to perform ceremonial drills and remain effective during extended duty hours.
• Demonstrated assertiveness, attention to detail, courage, professionalism, empathy, and tact in carrying out operational duties.
• Knowledge of emergency response, security operations, and fire safety management is advantageous.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage and coordinate with personnel across all levels.
• Capable of working both collaboratively within a team environment and independently with minimal supervision.

Contract Duration: 6 Months Working Location: Central Working Hours: Monday - Friday (only upon activation, typically about 3 times permonth). Between 8.00am - 9.00pm Salary: UP $19/Hour
