About the role
We're hiring a Director of Engagements to own patient retention, adherence, and long-term engagement across Cadence's remote care programs. You'll lead the strategy, systems, and operational execution behind how patients stay connected to care between visits - from onboarding and activation through ongoing chronic disease management. This role sits at the intersection of growth, operations, and care delivery, partnering across Clinical, Product, Marketing, Operations, and Partnerships to build scalable engagement systems that improve patient outcomes, strengthen retention, and expand the reach of technology-enabled care.
Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end patient retention and engagement strategy across Cadence's remote care programs, with accountability for adherence, disengagement reduction, and long-term patient activation.
- Build and operationalize a lifecycle engagement framework spanning enrollment, onboarding, activation, care plan adherence, and ongoing chronic disease management.
- Identify key patient drop-off points across clinical and operational workflows, then design targeted interventions that improve sustained engagement and care continuity.
- Lead high-impact experimentation initiatives across outreach channels, engagement triggers, segmentation strategies, and automation workflows to improve retention and patient experience.
- Develop scalable omnichannel patient outreach strategies across phone, SMS, email, and automated workflows that personalize engagement while preserving trust and human connection.
- Partner cross-functionally with Product, Clinical, Marketing, Operations, and Partnerships teams to align engagement systems with care delivery goals, operational workflows, and patient outcomes.
- Build and evolve Cadence's engagement infrastructure using automation, AI-supported prioritization, and workflow optimization to improve outreach efficiency, patient adherence, and team scalability.
- What You Need
- Bachelor's degree required.
- 8-10+ years of experience in growth, engagement, lifecycle marketing, retention, or related operational leadership roles, preferably in healthcare, consumer health, or complex B2B2C environments.
- Demonstrated experience building and scaling engagement systems, programs, or operational workflows from early-stage pilots through repeatable execution at scale.
- Strong analytical and experimentation capabilities with experience translating behavioral, operational, or engagement data into measurable retention and adherence improvements.
- Experience designing and managing omnichannel engagement strategies across SMS, phone, email, and automated outreach platforms.
- Experience with CRM, engagement automation, analytics, or lifecycle management platforms such as Braze, HubSpot, or comparable systems.
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional initiatives across Product, Clinical, Marketing, Operations, and Partnerships teams in matrixed environments.
- Fluency with AI research and productivity tools and the ability to evaluate AI-driven insights critically, distinguishing signal from noise in a fast-moving information environment.

Additional Information
Sixty million Medicare seniors live with chronic disease. The care system sees most of them twice a year. Cadence is building the infrastructure to support them every day. Cadence is a clinical AI company that delivers continuous, proactive care for older adults with chronic conditions like hypertension, heart failure, and diabetes. We pair patients with a dedicated clinical team, integrate deeply into health system EMRs and workflows, and use our Clinical Intelligence platform to monitor vitals, surface risk early, optimize medications, and close care gaps between visits. The result: patients engage with care 100x more than before Cadence, clinicians focus on judgment instead of administrative work, and Medicare saves $2M a week. We operate as a full clinical care delivery organization, not a software vendor. Our clinicians work alongside health system partners, extending the reach of local primary care providers into patients' homes. We're now applying AI agents across these workflows - from alert review and medication titration to lifestyle coaching and care coordination - with clinicians always in control of clinical decisions.
