About the role We are excited to be accepting applications for the position of Lecturer in Architectural History and Theory in the department of Creative Industries. In this role, you will bridge historical discourse with contemporary practice by leading the delivery of the history and theory of architecture modules while creating strong links to the Design Studio. You will have knowledge of architectural theory and history, as well as an understanding of key research approaches in this area. Beyond theory, you will actively contribute to diverse architecture-related areas, fostering a research culture that creates impact within the local community and beyond. The successful candidate will contribute to both undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and research in Architecture, as well as to the broader objectives of the School of Digital, Technology, Innovation and Business at University of Staffordshire. Main Responsibilities Deliver engaging and critically informed teaching in the History and Theory of Architecture, fostering students' understanding of historical, cultural, and philosophical contexts that shape the built environment and architectural practice. To support the development and delivery of the academic provision to undergraduate and postgraduate students, as required, ensuring an excellent student experience. To undertake teaching and teaching-related activities as determined by the Course Leader/Course Director/Head of Department. To participate in research, knowledge exchange, public engagement and/or scholarly activity for personal development and to enhance the reputation of the University. To lead/contribute to university and/or school initiatives in line with strategic business plan. To take an adaptable and flexible approach to Creative Industries, and contribute to a multidisciplinary Creative Industries mission. To contribute to the delivery of Contextual and Critical Studies that deepen students' critical, cultural and theoretical understanding.
