About the role
Reliability Engineers are responsible for improving the reliability, availability, observability, and operational resilience of Griffith's enterprise platforms and services. Responsibilities
- Work collaboratively with Platform Engineering, product teams, vendors, and application support teams to improve operational resilience, performance, scalability, and service reliability.
- Design and implement automation solutions to reduce repetitive operational tasks, improve consistency, and accelerate incident response and recovery activities.
- Support installation, configuration, upgrades, patching, and lifecycle management of enterprise applications, middleware, integration platforms, and related infrastructure.
- Develop and maintain observability capabilities including dashboards, monitoring checks, alerting, logging, and operational metrics using enterprise observability tooling.
- Enhance and support CI/CD and DevOps practices across enterprise platforms and services using tools such as Azure DevOps, Terraform, Ansible, Octopus Deploy, and related automation frameworks.
- Participate in incident management, root cause analysis, problem management, and operational improvement activities to reduce recurring issues and improve platform resilience.
- Contribute to infrastructure as code and configuration management practices to ensure repeatable, consistent, and scalable platform deployments.
- Collaborate with projects and product teams to improve operational readiness, platform supportability, observability, and non-functional requirements including availability, security, maintainability, and recoverability.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and help evolve Platform Engineering and Reliability Engineering practices, tools, and standards.

- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal along with the ability to liaise with a range of stakeholders
- Desirable Experience
- Technical experience with Peoplesoft Campus Solutions, Human Resources and/or Finance, especially server setup and environment configuration skills
- Experience working with Windows and Linux operating systems
- Basic experience with Oracle databases using tools like SQLDeveloper and Golden
- Experience with Azure and/or cloud services, automation tooling, infrastructure as code.
- Experience with New Relic
- Exposure to technologies such as Terraform, Azure DevOps and Octopus Deploy
- Experience working within higher education or similarly complex enterprise environments is desirable.
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends will be required as part of this position. Candidates must have full unrestricted Australian work rights and may be subject to a National criminal history check.

- This is a continuing opportunity based at Brisbane South (Nathan). As Griffith is a multi-site University you may be required to work across other locations.
- HEW 7 Salary - Base range - $104,504.60 - $113,219.43 + 17% super. Full package range - $122,270.38 - $132,466.72.
