Job Title: Senior Social Worker - Locality Safeguarding Location: Covering South East, Normanton and Featherstone Pay Rate: £35 per hour Job Description: Liquid Personnel is recruiting a Senior Social Worker for its client's Locality Safeguarding Team based in Normanton and Featherstone . This pivotal role within Children's Services involves delivering high-quality social work practice to safeguard and promote the welfare of children and young people. The successful candidate will lead on complex cases, mentor junior colleagues, and contribute to a reflective and supportive team environment. Collaboration with children, families, and multi-agency partners will be essential to ensure timely and effective interventions. What will your responsibilities be? Manage a caseload of complex and high-risk cases, including Child in Need (CIN), Child Protection (CP), Public Law Outline (PLO), and court proceedings. Provide mentorship and support to less experienced social workers and contribute to their professional development. Undertake statutory assessments, develop and review child protection and care plans, and ensure all interventions are child-focused and outcome-driven. Chair and lead multi-agency meetings, including strategy discussions and core groups, ensuring effective information sharing and planning. Maintain high standards of recording, analysis, and decision-making in line with legislation, policy, and best practice. Work collaboratively with partner agencies to deliver coordinated safeguarding responses. Contribute to service development, including quality assurance activities, audits, and reflective practice sessions. Promote and model Wakefield Council's values, behaviours, and commitment to continuous improvement in children's social care.
