About the role

You will serve as a ELECTRONIC INDUSTRIAL CONTROL MECHANIC LEADER in the Maintenance Branch (Code 1440.3), Production Division (Code 1440), Naval Foundry and Propeller Center (Code 1400) (NFPC), located in Philadelphia Pennsylvania, a detachment of NORFOLK NAVAL SHIPYARD. Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most trade and labor occupations, you must show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying. Qualification requirements emphasis is on quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time. This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job. Applicants who do not receive a minimum of two points on the screen-out element(s) will be found ineligible. The Screen-out Element for this position is: ABILITY TO LEAD OR SUPERVISE Ability to perform overhauls, troubleshooting, repairs, installations and preventative maintenance inspections on high speed CNC machines, machine tools, molding and melting equipment and up to 85 ton induction furnaces. Ability to troubleshoot and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electro-mechanical systems of multi-function production machinery equipment. Ability to repair CNC hydraulic, mechanical feedback systems and sub-system components. Ability to make modifications to mechanical systems with the use of advanced technical knowledge. Ability to troubleshoot hydrostatic, counterbalance, lubrication and ball screw driven mechanical systems of a complex nature. Ability to read blueprints and technical work documents to perform advanced troubleshooting. Ability to demonstrate strong leadership skills while working as part of a team.
