About the role
We are seeking a visionary and results-driven Director of AS/RS & Automation Systems or Senior Manager to lead the end-to-end delivery of advanced intralogistics solutions. This role focuses on large-scale Automated Storage and Retrieval Systems (AS/RS), high-density storage, and structural racking systems, ensuring seamless integration of mechanical, structural, and control systems across distribution and manufacturing operations. Responsibilities
- Lead execution of AS/RS and warehouse automation projects from end-to-end delivery
- Oversee structural racking design, installation, and integration with automation systems
- Manage project planning, scheduling, critical path tracking, and milestone delivery
- Ensure engineering compliance with high-precision tolerances and system specifications
- Conduct technical reviews of mechanical, electrical, and structural integration works
- Enforce safety standards, risk assessments, and high-level installation protocols
- Manage project budgets, cost control, procurement, and overall P&L performance
- Ensure compliance with Singapore regulations (BCA, SCDF, SS/EN standards, workplace safety)
- Oversee BIM coordination and ensure accurate "Digital Twin" representation of systems
- Manage vendor/OEM coordination for automation systems, cranes, conveyors, and racking
- Act as primary liaison for clients, consultants, authorities, and subcontractors
- Drive continuous improvement in automation design, efficiency, and execution methodology
- Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, or Industrial Engineering
- 5 years of experience in large-scale engineering or industrial automation projects
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in AS/RS, warehouse automation, or structural racking systems
- Experience in multi-disciplinary system integration (mechanical, electrical, controls, ACMV)
- Strong knowledge of Singapore regulatory requirements (BCA, SCDF, SS/EN standards)
- Proven leadership in managing cross-functional engineering and project teams
- Strong stakeholder and vendor management capability (OEMs, consultants, clients)
- Ability to manage high-value, high-risk, mission-critical projects independently
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to perform under tight deadlines
- Strong understanding of :
- Automated storage and retrieval systems (AS/RS)
- High-bay racking systems and structural steel design principles
- Warehouse automation workflows (conveyors, cranes, shuttles, etc.)
