The Position: Assistant Coach - Football Job Summary: Muhlenberg College, a Division III institution and a member of the Centennial Conference, is seeking applications for a full-time Assistant Football Coach. Responsibilities include assisting the head coach in all phases of the football program within College, conference, and NCAA rules and regulations. Characteristic Duties & Responsibilities: Coaching and Student-Athlete Experience Under the general direction of the head coach, provide leadership and coaching in support of the mission of the College and Athletics department. Administer a competitive NCAA Division III football program in accordance with college, NCAA, and Centennial Conference policies. Coach, motivate, counsel, and support student-athletes in realizing their potential for personal growth and development as student-athletes and members of the college community. Develop and deliver practice sessions, training sessions, team meetings, and contests (home and away). Recruitment and Retention Maintain recruiting software, monitor the various recruiting services, and analyze national and regional recruiting trends. Establish and meet recruitment goals, oversee on-campus recruiting, including correspondence with recruits. Develop recruiting plan for specific geographic areas. Build relationships with high schools and coaches Participate in summer programming and off campus recruiting including showcases and college clinics. Create positive environment with student athletes during position meetings and other football events. Professional Development and Community Engagement Create positive support for the program within and outside of the campus community, including alumni, parents and friends of Muhlenberg College. Work with Head Coach to develop an annual professional development plan that will ensure awareness of trends, best practices, new information, etc. related to athletics, student development, leadership and diversity and inclusion practices and skills. Lead and participate in Divisional and College-wide committees and initiatives. Assist in hiring, mentoring and supervising part-time assistant coaches. Attend meetings and training as required by the head coach and athletics director. Actively participate in fundraising activities in support of the program and the Football 100 Club. Assist in achieving team success within and beyond the conference. Perform other duties as assigned.
