Senior Consultant, Commodity & Energy Trading - US Power Markets

Responsibilities

• As part of our team, you will work closely with clients on the following types of challenging, high-impact engagements:
• Strategy & Commercial Advisory - US market entry and establishment, commercial trading & hedging strategy, commercial collaboration models, book structure & transfer pricing
• Business Capability Development - trading capability assessment & benchmarking, trading capability design, operating & organization design, business process design, business change program planning, business & IT readiness & training, operational excellence
• Risk & Regulatory Advisory - risk strategy definition, risk management policy design, risk capability assessment & design (market, credit, operational, climate, etc.), regulatory & compliance capability assessment & design (KYC, AML, trade surveillance, etc.)
• Data & Analytics Advisory - data & analytics strategy / architecture design, data & analytics solution design & delivery
• Technology Advisory & Transformation - technology strategy & architecture design, IT operating model design, technology capability building, technology program QA & health checks, vendor selection & implementation
• Your skills and experience
• Our Senior Consultant role requires 4+ years experience in a consulting or industry role, with experience in Commodity & Energy Trading initiatives. We are seeking individuals with strong client delivery and relationship-building skills, coupled with deep advisory expertise in the following areas:
• Strategic advisory experience focused on power trading and asset optimization operations
• Functional expertise across the power and environmental value chain including: Physical & Financial Power Trading, Generation & Load Management, Power Operations (Across ISOs, RTOs, & Balancing Authorities (BAs))
• Experience in Operating Model & Process Design with areas of expertise in: Forecasting, Power Trading & Scheduling, Position Management, ISO (Bidding, Submissions & Awards), Settlements (ISO, PPAs, transmission, & exchanges), Renewable
• Energy credit (REC) Management, Compliance Reporting
• Experience in advisory support for market entry and trading readiness initiatives
• Experience in leading business and IT transformation programs, including change management
• Knowledge of risk management frameworks and regulatory compliance
• Experience in strategy, design, and implementation of advanced analytics platforms for power trading organizations
• Experience in program and project delivery within power trading environments
