General Summary Of Duties: The Carpenter is responsible for performing both rough and finish carpentry, involving cutting, shaping, planning, and fastening together pieces of wood and other materials. Role and Responsibilities: (Includes but is not limited to the following) Prepare the layout of the project. Estimate height, width, length, and other proportions. Select materials. Work with blueprints or instructions from supervisors. Work with materials such as wood, plastic, or drywall. Utilize chisels, planes, saws, drills, and sanders to repair and erect structures. Join materials with nails, screws, staples, or adhesives. Work on top of scaffolding, ladders Check work along the way to ensure it's up to code and specifications. Build stairs, mantles, and furniture. Install cabinets and molding. Replace ceiling tiles, and doors. Install partitions, doors. Performance Requirements: ( Knowledge, skills and abilities) Communication Professional Appearance - Maintains high standards of personal appearance. Customer Service - Understands and meets the needs of the Hotel Management team. Team Orientation - Works cooperatively with others, establishes rapport and assists others. Physical Skills - Capable of performing laborious work in varied conditions Detail Orientation / Accuracy - Successfully manages many tasks and processes. Problem Solving - Proactively addresses problems and works quickly to resolve. Project / Task Management - Demonstrates ability to work within timelines, structures and budgets. Experience Requirements 5+ years of carpentry experience 2+ years of head carpenter experience Education Requirements High school diploma OR GED Equivalent.
