Responsibilities include:General landscaping and lawn care: watering, mowing and weed maintenance, trimming and replacing shrubs, applying lawn fertilizers, etc.Internal and external building cleaning and maintenance; glass window cleaning, painting of hand rails, equipment or guards, light bulb replacement, general area clean up, etc.Access to and usage of facilities equipment to complete work throughout this campus.Support of general facility projects and repairs; picking up parts, assisting with equipment repair, cleaning equipment components, shadow various technician rolesOperating POET fleet vehicles for maintenance service and cleanupFoster a culture of safe behavior and environmental compliance at all times.Maintain a team environment at all times and champion POET in the communityMaintain and advance the food safety and quality of POET's products and processes to deliver a best-in-class culture of quality.Since we're all about teamwork and getting the job done, your skills may be put to a lot of other uses!QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLSPursuing or completion of a high school diploma or equivalent educationGeneral safety awareness and willingness to take direction on task completionMust be self-motivated with the ability to work independently on various projectsKnowledge of the basics of Microsoft Office Suite and the ability of learning new programsA SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL HAVEPractical decision making skillsHigh level of personal integrityInterpersonal skills - ability to effectively interact with individuals at all levels within/outside the organizationDemonstrated problem-solving and critical thinking skillsAbility to embrace and promote changeInnovative mindsetAbility to think objectivelySelf-awareness in the face of uncertaintyAbility to work in a team environmentPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORK ENVIRONMENTThis role has some physical requirements that our team members will need to be able to perform, such as:Wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as hard hats, gloves, safety glasses, steel-toed boots, self-contained breathing system, hazardous material suit, and hearing protection.Working at extreme heights (approximately 150 ft), in confined spaces, and in extreme temperatures from -20 to +100 degrees Fahrenheit, both indoors and outdoors.Be able to use the following equipment/tools, with training provided (not all encompassing): cleaning cart and supplies, forklift, riding and push lawn mower, bobcat sweeper, vacuum, snow blower, shovel, broom, mop, and ladderFrequently:Walk on slippery surfacesGrip with a force of up to 20lbsPush and pull with a force of up to 30lbsBend forward while standingUse repetitive arm motions to wipe down and maintain work areaOccasionally:Lift up to 50lbs, with or without assistanceCarry up to 50lb, with or without assistanceBe in awkward back, shoulder, wrists, and hand positionsSince we are all about team work, you may be asked to help other roles that have their own unique set of physical requirements.Due to the physical and safety-sensitive nature of this job, you will be subject to a physical and expected to pass a drug screen during the pre-screen process. During employment, you'll be subject to random drug and alcohol testing.The compensation for this position is competitive and will be based on the candidate's experience and qualifications.
