Counterparty Credit Risk Manager Frankfurt PT-JR032510 Morgan Stanley is seeking a risk professional to join the Credit Risk Management department in Frankfurt at Vice President level. The role holder will have responsibility for the credit risk management of the Firm's business with clients and with additional involvement in credit risk management related governance and regulatory deliverables. Firm Risk Management (FRM) supports Morgan Stanley to achieve its business goals by partnering with business units across the Firm to realize efficient risk-adjusted returns, acting as a strategic advisor to the Board and protecting the Firm from exposure to losses as a result of credit, market, liquidity, operational, model and other risks. The role will reside within Firm Risk Management's Credit Risk Management Department. Credit Risk Management (CRM) evaluates credit risk transactions and approves, rejects or modifies them considering the availability and appropriateness of arrangements for reducing risk or risk mitigation. The department also assigns Internal Credit Ratings; establishes and manages credit risk limits in accordance with the risk tolerance established by the Board; monitors and reports on credit risk exposures on a regular basis to the Chief Risk Officer and senior management. CRM also interacts with business units to ensure that credit risk assessments are factored into business decisions. Oversight of the credit analysis, credit rating assignment and risk management for clients, in particular setting and monitoring of credit risk limits as well as performing credit due diligence and internal rating assignment Monitor and understand how macro-economic, industry or company-specific trends impact the credit quality of counterparties or group of counterparties Monitor and analyse credit risk and credit exposure sensitivities and concentrations, including review and analysis of credit stress testing results Analyse transactions and provide credit approval, including review and approval of credit risk mitigation and documentation requirements Participate in client due diligence meetings to understand their strategy, financial performance and business requirements Point person for Sales & Trading Division for management of credit risk resulting from transactions Review, analyse and approve New Product requests Contribute to the monitoring and reporting of risk across the counterparty portfolio for the legal entity Coordinate with other Divisions including Legal and Compliance, Operations, Regulatory Controllers and Capital Groups as well as Firm Risk employees in other Morgan Stanley offices What you'll bring in the role: Bachelor's degree or equivalent Proven experience in risk management or similar roles with strong analytical skills, experience related to fundamental credit analysis Strong understanding of financial risks in traded products and the credit approval process Ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders, both written and verbally Ability to work independently in a self-directed way in a collaborative environment Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, often balancing multiple high priority deliverables Strong attention to detail and ability to provide information in usable formats (proficiency in Microsoft office, including Excel, PowerPoint and Word) Fluency in English is required, plus another European language (preferred) What you can expect from Morgan Stanley: We are committed to maintaining the first-class service and high standard of excellence that have defined Morgan Stanley for over 85 years.
