About the Position: This position is with the Defense Health Agency, Defense Health Network East. It is located at the Martin Army Community Hospital located on Fort Benning, Georgia. Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of a(n) Maintenance Worker (Motor Vehicle Operator) ~ without more than normal supervision. I have the ability to perform common Maintenance Worker (MVO) tasks such as applying coating materials such as paint and primer to surfaces. I am skilled in replacing damaged/missing lens on walkway light fixtures, six-foot stepladder accessible fixtures and globes, broken or missing splash blocks. I am able to recalk metal trim joints on doors and windows. I can replace door hinges or hardware. I am skilled in general contracting work such as repairing various types of walls, flooring, and fixtures. I work under normal supervision of a work leader or journey-level employee who observes tasks in progress and upon completion to make sure they are properly performed. - Failure to meet this Screen out Element will result in an ineligible rating. PHYSICAL EFFORT: Works at benches or tables, on ladders, scaffolds, or platforms, standing on level or uneven floors, and in cramped work areas. Arm movements are considerable and lifting of heavy items from 40 to 90 pounds is frequent. Considerable standing, stooping, bending, kneeling, climbing, and working in tiring or uncomfortable positions is required. WORKING CONDITIONS: Work is performed inside and outside of buildings. There is exposure to heat, cold, humidity, dust, grease, and to a lesser extent, sawdust, wood splinters, abrasive materials, disagreeable fumes, odors and noise. Subject to danger of falling when working from ladders or scaffolds, platforms, or rooftops. There is frequent exposure to the possibility of scrapes, burns, cuts, infections, and occasional exposure to the possibility of broken bones.
