Full Stack Engineer, Guarded Releases

About the role

LaunchDarkly is looking for an experienced Full Stack Engineer to play a key role in shaping the future of software delivery on the Guarded Releases team. We have multiple full-stack openings on this team, ranging from early-career to mid-level roles. The Guarded Releases team is focused on making every release safer, faster, and more reliable. Our mission is to redefine how software is released: automating release processes, measuring the real-time impact of feature rollouts, and simplifying debugging when things go wrong. From automated release pipelines to metrics monitoring, error tracking, and fully automated rollbacks, our work ensures every code change is measured, and the entire release process from rollout to issue mitigation is managed for maximum efficiency and reliability. We are solving critical challenges in modern software delivery: reducing the time it takes to detect regressions, automating responses to minimize risk, and eliminating manual effort. We extensively use the products we build, allowing us to create our own ideal release process while shaping the developer experience for teams across the industry. Requirements

• 3-5+ years of professional software engineering experience, with a track record of shipping production-quality full-stack features
• Proficiency across the full stack-comfortable in TypeScript/React on the frontend and Go (or similar) on the backend
• Experience building data-focused products such as experimentation platforms, analytics dashboards, or large-scale data visualizations.
• Proficient in designing, implementing, and maintaining RESTful APIs
• Experience working directly with customers and understanding how their work impacts business goals
• Strong sense of ownership and accountability for delivering impactful solutions
• Proven ability to work closely and collaborate with cross functional partners, like product, design, and data scientists.
• Demonstrated ability to write clean, well-documented, and testable code with a focus on maintainability and extensibility.
• Strong understanding of observability and monitoring tools and practices.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills

• Target pay ranges based on Geographic Zones* for Level 2:
• Zone 1: San Francisco/Bay Area or NYC Metropolitan Area, Boston, Seattle - $136,500 - $187,660**
• Zone 2: Irvine, LA, Monterey, Santa Barbara, Santa Rosa, Austin, Portland, Philadelphia, Chicago - $122,800 - $168,850**
• Zone 3: All other US locations - $ 116,000 - $159,500 **
• Target pay ranges based on Geographic Zones* for Level 3:
• Zone 1: 171,200 - 235,400
• Zone 2: 154,100- 211,860
• Zone 3: 145,500 - 200,090
