Responsibilities

  • Lead the product strategy, vision and roadmap for Commodities, Carbon and related Global Markets platforms, primarily across Murex and associated technology services.
  • Coordinate end-to-end delivery of the technology roadmap for the respective stream, including discovery, requirements, prioritisation, delivery planning, release coordination and sign-off.
  • On a day-to-day basis lead the delivery squad by providing business context, clarity, prioritisation and product vision.
  • Work with sales, trading, risk, operations, finance and technology stakeholders to capture business requirements and prioritise outcomes for technology squads.
  • Identify and manage risks, dependencies and issues for the squad in line with excellent operational risk, governance and compliance outcomes.
  • Stay abreast of external market trends, including commodities, carbon, electricity, regulatory change, economic developments and innovation, including relevant Artificial Intelligence use cases.
  • Build and foster strong relationships across the product value chain, including frontline teams, compliance, risk, operations and technology, to ensure efficient delivery of strategic initiatives and resolution of issues.
  • Support the Crew Lead to ensure overall crew objectives and business OKRs are met.
  • Proactively identify, articulate and manage risks, controls, governance obligations and compliance across your product.
  • Work with GM COO, Line 1 and Line 2 Risk teams and Compliance to ensure adherence to Global Markets policies across the platforms you are responsible for.
  • We're interested in hearing from people who:
  • Have strong hands-on Product Owner or Product Manager experience, including backlog management, roadmap development, product discovery and end-to-end product lifecycle delivery.
  • Have a degree in Business, Engineering, Commerce, Technology or a related discipline.
  • Have excellent knowledge of Financial Markets, with deep understanding of Commodities products, risk, valuation, governance, trade lifecycle, operational processes and controls.
  • Possess sound knowledge of trading platforms such as Murex or Calypso, with knowledge of Carbon, Commodities and Electricity markets advantageous.
  • Have a proven track record delivering large and complex initiatives in fast-paced, risk-aware environments.
  • Are adept at managing senior stakeholders, influencing priorities, resolving ambiguity and aligning business and technology teams.
  • Bring advanced problem-solving, decision-making, data-driven prioritisation, stakeholder influencing and product roadmapping capability, consistent with Senior Product Owner expectations.
  • Can balance customer outcomes, commercial value, risk, technology trade-offs and delivery pace, with awareness of Artificial Intelligence concepts and practical use cases.

Global Markets is a department of IB&M and is responsible for activities across interest rates, bonds, foreign exchange, credit, debt, commodities and carbon products. Markets has offices across Australia, New Zealand, Hong Kong, Singapore, London and New York. The Global Markets Domain crews are responsible for the execution of technology change initiatives in IB&M. The crews also undertake initiatives that cut across the CBA Group to enable wider strategic priorities. This team works closely with Group and IB&M stakeholders to enable Global Markets and Commodities & Carbon businesses. This includes risk and controls management, business change, prioritisation and delivery of initiatives, and ongoing business improvement. Do work that matters Reporting to the Crew Lead for FICC & Carbon crew, this role will see you define and lead the product vision, strategy and roadmap for Commodities platforms across Global Markets. You will work with senior stakeholders across the Group to deliver business and customer value, whilst maintaining strong focus on risk, valuation, governance, controls, regulatory obligations and operational resilience.
