Additional Information

Job Description: This 4-week, office-based internship is designed to give a high school student firsthand insight into what we do at Ryan Companies. Working under the guidance of our Preconstruction and Project Managers, you will be introduced to the foundational elements of commercial real estate and construction planning. Your goal will be to learn basic industry tasks while receiving strong mentorship and oversight from the team. Job Responsibilities: Learn how real-world construction projects work: Help our team with daily office tasks while learning how a major company like Ryan gets buildings made from start to finish. Get hands-on with project planning: Help our managers organize and submit project bids, and learn how we do "takeoffs" (measuring drawings to figure out what materials we need to buy). Learn the business side of building: Get a behind-the-scenes look at project math, including how we plan budgets, track costs, pay bills, and handle contracts. Sit in on professional meetings: Shadow our team and listen in on conversations with architects, designers, and trade partners to see how we plan and make deals. Be a team player: Help out with other light, non-hazardous office organization tasks as they come up to support the Austin team (including helping us organize and declutter files and desk areas in a safe, office environment ahead of our planned remodel!). Support the team: Perform other office-based duties as assigned under the direct supervision of your manager.
