Role Overview As a Forward Deployed Manufacturing Engineer, you will work directly with manufacturing teams to translate real-world build processes into structured, scalable workflows within BuildOS. You will act as a digital manufacturing engineer, helping customers move from legacy processes to a model-based, software-driven system. You will be deeply embedded during pilots and early deployments, ensuring customers not only understand the product-but successfully adopt it.
Responsibilities
- Translate customer assembly processes into BuildOS workflows
- Create and structure work instructions from CAD and engineering data
- Lead onboarding and drive adoption during pilots and early deployments
- Act as a trusted advisor to manufacturing, engineering, and operations teams
- Identify inefficiencies in customer workflows and propose improvements
- Partner with product and engineering to surface high-impact feedback
- Support demos, technical evaluations, and customer check-ins
Requirements
- Background in mechanical, manufacturing, or industrial engineering
- Experience working in or closely with manufacturing environments
- Strong intuition for how things are built in the real world
- Ability to break down and structure complex assembly workflows
- Excellent communication skills across technical and non-technical audiences
- High ownership and comfort working directly with customers
- Technical Background
- Experience with CAD tools (NX, SolidWorks, Creo, etc.)
- Familiarity with PLM / ERP systems and manufacturing workflows
- Understanding of EBOM / MBOM concepts and production processes
- Experience creating or managing work instructions
- New York Pay Range
- $100,000 - $140,000 USD
