Responsibilities
- The employee must consistently demonstrate the following essential functions:
- Acts as a Liaison between Food Services and all other departments with respect to patient meals and diets.
- Delivery of meals and nourishments according to established patient identification policies and procedures.
- Assist with all activities related to meal services.
- Knowledge of fluid restrictions, tube feeding, diet orders and standards for restricted diets.
- Ability to transfer medical record information into menu software to ensure diet, allergies and modifiers are processed accurately.
- Communicates patient needs and concerns with patients, families, and clinical staff.
- Maintain a positive representation of Food and Nutrition Services through professionalism, hygiene and uniform.
- Record and maintain unit refrigerator temperature logs according to facility standards.
- Answer and log all incoming calls to the nutrition office.
- Maintain the highest level of customer service as outlined by department and RRH Standards.
- Generate reports, tallies, calorie counts, nourishment labels, tray tickets, etc. and process information within established time frames.
- Responsible for accurate delivery and filling of supplies to units as required.
- Maintain work areas in a safe and orderly manner.
- Responsible for attending and retaining all staff meetings and in-service training.
- May be responsible for daily back up of menu software.
- Perform other duties as assigned within the department.
