AECOM's Resources and Industrial (R&I) team have an exciting opportunity for a Director of Structures with extensive mining, heavy industry and industrial experience to help drive the technical outcome for a range of projects from the Townsville office. Utilising your extensive mining, heavy industry and industrial experience, you will provide technical oversight across all project phases, from studies through to detailed engineering and execution. Our team works across the broader mining sector including underground and open cut, minerals processing, smelting and mining support infrastructure plus general industrial facilities, refineries, sugar mills, ports, water and wastewater installations. Specifically, this opportunity will require significant technical understanding across a variety of areas including Mining and Process Plant Structures, Marine Structures (Wharfs), Civil Structures (Retaining Walls, Pavement Slabs, Large Culverts), Road and Rail Bridges (Road, Rail, Tram, Pedestrian), Water and Sewerage Treatment Plants including Reservoirs, Power Stations, Piles Foundations, Buildings (Industrial, Commercial, Residential, Multi Storey). As an RPEQ and Chartered Engineer, you will be hands on in the development of engineering design & documentation, responsible for the technical checking of project deliverables to provide the highest quality of service, whilst also providing mentoring and guidance to junior team members. How you'll make a difference A minimum of 20+years of experience in the design and specification of structural engineering within a consulting environment Ability to develop and drive concept designs from scratch, ensuring innovation and safety is at the forefront of all early discussions Extensive experience of direct interaction with clients and key stakeholders Extensive knowledge of design, Australian Standards, ASME codes and API standards Competent in developing/reviewing basis of design, technical specifications, datasheets, scope of supply, technical bid evaluations, and vendor documents Experience managing budget and time to deliver top class projects Strong oral and written communication skills Outgoing, team player that enjoys developing engineering solutions in a team environment leveraging from both known technologies and innovative designs.
