As part of the Speech and Hearing Department, this position provides audiological evaluations for all persons living at Murdoch and recommends and refers hearing impaired individuals for further evaluation of amplification needs. The audiologist maintains and services individuals' hearing aids and implements auditory training programs for people with identified needs. The audiologist orders needed testing supplies and other needed supplies and maintains the audiological equipment. The Department of Speech and Hearing houses the audiologist and audiological equipment. Staff members accompany individuals (adults, children and youth) to the Speech and Hearing Department for evaluation. This Position Is Designated As Mandatory And Must Report Or Stay Over During Adverse Weather Events. Knowledge Skills and Abilities/Management Preferences Recruitment Range: $66,696.00 - $110,049.00 Candidates now meet the minimum qualifications of a position if they meet the minimum education and experience listed on the vacancy announcement. The Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)/ Management Preferences are not required. Applicants who possess the following skills are preferred: Considerable knowledge of current principles, theories and techniques used in evaluation and habilitating hearing, especially of children and adults with developmental disorders; of various types of audiological disorders Knowledge of audiologic disorders: causes and treatments Ability to collect and analyze data and determine appropriate diagnoses Knowledge of treatment team process Basic knowledge in fields of speech/language pathology, psychology, education, assistive technology, and behavioral analysis Familiarity with medical diagnoses and pharmacology and effect on hearing acuity and auditory processing Excellent oral and written communication skills Possession of a current and valid Certificate of Clinical Competence in Audiology (CCC-A) issued by the American Speech and Hearing Association. Have/be eligible for a valid Audiology license from NC Board of Examiners for SLP and AUD. This Position Is Exempt And Is EXEMPT From Certain Provisions Of The State Human Resources Act (GS 126) This Position Is Designated As Mandatory And Must Report Or Stay Over During Adverse Weather Events. Work Schedule: 8:00-4:30 with some variation.
