About the role

We're building an in-house creative studio that brings campaigns, product storytelling, content, events, and advertising together under one roof. You will work with other marketing leaders to establish a cohesive and integrated marketing vision. As Executive Creative Director, you'll define KOHO's creative vision and lead the team that brings it to life across every touchpoint. This role is equal parts creative leadership, organizational leadership, and talent development. You'll oversee a multidisciplinary team of creative directors, designers, copywriters, and producers, ensuring everything KOHO puts into the world reflects an exceptional creative standard while supporting business objectives. You'll shape how the creative organization operates, establish the systems and culture that enable great work, and serve as the senior creative voice across the company. While your primary focus is leading people and building the organization, you'll remain close to the work-guiding concepts, providing direction, and occasionally rolling up your sleeves when needed. Reporting to the Chief Growth Officer, you'll partner closely with leaders across Growth, Lifecycle, Product Marketing, and Product to connect creative excellence with business impact.

Responsibilities

  • Define and champion KOHO's multichannel creative vision across campaigns, product storytelling, content, events, and social and be accountable for business outcomes
  • Concept and create key pieces yourself when the work demands it, you are a "player/coach"
  • Lead and develop a multidisciplinary creative team, including art directors, designers, copywriters, and producers
  • Set the creative standard for all work, providing clear direction and feedback across both art direction and copy
  • Work with product marketing to translate briefs into powerful creative ideas
  • Oversee photo and video shoots alongside the Studios team and freelance production crews
  • Brief and manage freelance talent and agency partners during campaign surges
  • Help establish creative processes, review cadences, and quality standards as the department scales
  • Present concepts and creative work to senior stakeholders with clarity and conviction
  • Build the systems, processes, and review structures that enable high-quality creative output at scale
  • Oversee external agencies, freelancers, production partners, and photo/video shoots as needed
  • Set art direction and copy direction for campaigns, brand, web, product, video, events, and social

Requirements

  • 15+ years of experience leading creative teams and organizations in ambitious, fast-paced environments with significant time at agencies or in-house teams that think like agencies
  • A portfolio that shows conceptual range across both copy and art direction ; big ideas that work across mediums
  • Experience working across the marketing stack, with a solid understanding of the overall marketing department's objectives (not just creative).
  • Ability to collaborate with product design to ensure consistency and design cohesiveness
  • Experience directing video and motion work, not just static and copy
  • Someone who is actively utilizing AI in their creative process today
  • Proven ability to direct and elevate writers, art directors and designers
  • Deep expertise across copywriting, advertising, campaigns, content, and production
  • Strong creative instincts with a portfolio demonstrating conceptual excellence across multiple channels and mediums
  • Experience leading multidisciplinary teams, developing talent, and creating environments where creatives can do their best work
  • Strong organizational and operational skills, with the ability to structure teams, allocate resources, and establish effective ways of working
  • Executive-level communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Experience directing video, motion, digital, and integrated campaign work
  • A strong point of view on culture, storytelling, and brand building
