Requirements

  • Required Experience
  • Minimum 3 years professional experience as an HVAC DDC Technician .
  • Understanding of computer networking principles , including configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
  • Ability to wire, start up, and troubleshoot basic HVAC DDC maintenance issues.
  • Fundamental understanding of HVAC operations within a facility.
  • Required Education
  • Bachelor's or Associate degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Computer Science, Electrical, Information Technology), OR
  • Two-year technical degree in HVAC/Electronics-related studies plus 2 additional years of experience (year-for-year substitution).
  • Experience with multiple DDC manufacturers such as Automated Logic, Carrier, Delta, Distech, Schneider Electric, or Trane .
  • Proven ability to debug installation issues during static and dynamic start-up phases.
  • Experience supporting installation personnel and contractors on job sites.
  • Extensive experience performing or assisting with commissioning of EMS .
  • Working Hours & Location: Full-time, exempt role with standard business hours. In addition, this is an onsite position, and Monday - Friday in Los Angeles, CA .
  • Compensation Range: $101,920 - $108,160 annually; Eligible for Bonus

This role will assist the EMS Supervisor and perform field work to help maintain the District's HVAC Direct Digital Controls (DDC) and Energy Management Systems (EMS) . The EMS Senior Technician will also work with LAUSD's Technical Quality Support Team (TQST) to support preventive maintenance initiatives, identify potential energy conservation measures, and recommend facility improvements.
