Job Purpose Performs basic accounting functions to maintain a complete and accurate general ledger and financial statements. Provides basic analysis and reporting as assigned. Essential Responsibilities Applies accounting techniques and standard practices to the classification and recording of financial transactions. Posts, balances and reconciles various invested asset accounts. Reconciles custody bank activity. Performs transaction analyses, investigates data variances or anomalies and creates reports for review. May provide accounting support and administration for specific investment categories (such as derivatives, mortgage loans, limited partnerships, etc.). Performs daily collateral processing. Other Duties May assist with special projects. Other duties as assigned. Performs other duties and/or projects as assigned. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Basic understanding of GAAP accounting principles and procedures (understanding of IFRS and Statutory accounting preferred). Ability to learn and understand Jackson products and systems. Detail-oriented, organized and able to prioritize work to meet deadlines. Ability to work independently or as part of a team. Good written and verbal communication skills. Good PC skills, including MS Word, Access and Excel and other department software. Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
