Chief Strategy Officer

About the role

This position is located with Bonneville Power Administration (BPA), in the Strategic Planning and Performance office (MP) of the Customer Services (M) organization. A successful candidate in the Chief Strategy Officer position will serve as BPA's principal leader for developing organizational strategy and monitoring performance. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: A qualified candidate's online application and resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-14) in the Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as experience 1) developing, implementing, and monitoring organizational strategies, multi-year performance targets, and key performance indicators to align with regional and national objectives; 2) monitoring external trends that are developing within the industry, translating substantive implications into recommendations for adjusting and refining strategic plans; and 3) managing complex program initiatives, allocating organizational resources, and providing full supervisory and administrative direction to professional and managerial staff. "Experience" refers to paid and unpaid experience. Examples of qualifying unpaid experience may include: volunteer work done through National Service programs (such as Peace Corps and AmeriCorps); as well as work for other community-based philanthropic and social organizations. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills; and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
