About the role
You'll lead and develop a team of Specialist professionals responsible for the management, retention and commercial performance of a portfolio of clients across the intermediary channel, with a core focus on Cashplan and Dental products. Leading a team of Specialist Individuals, you'll ensure the development of strong commercial partnerships with our Specialist clients and in collaboration with the broker relationship management team and the brokerages to deliver year on year business, growth and profit targets. You'll work across all commercial teams in Bupa UK to ensure consistent delivery to our intermediary partners across all segments in a matrix management approach. How you'll help us make health happen Lead the creation of strategic & operational plans to drive sales and maximise profitable growth from existing Specialist accounts, both direct and intermediated. Strategically manage the team's portfolio of Specialist accounts, building commercially successful relationships with client contacts at all levels Take the lead role for the Specialist relationships. Lead the renewal and growth (via expansions/cross sells) of existing portfolio supported by the Intermediary team. Focus on driving efficiencies within the P&L. Working in conjunction with the wider UKI, Clinics and BG teams, support the acquisition of new business and work with them to transition new business into the existing portfolio. Proactively monitor the performance of the portfolio of accounts including margin levels, retention, new registrations, service levels; identify & deliver corrective actions to ensure that profitability and customer recommendation targets are achieved. Lead remote and / or field teams to ensure the delivery of growth of the Specialist customer base through new registrations and retention, revenue & contribution Consult on total health strategy, present the full portfolio of Bupa products and services in a seamless and integrated way to meet the clients' requirements. Continually identify opportunities to strengthen and optimise processes aligned to the customer journey, working with the Marketing Communications, Digital Product and Proposition Team (PPD) and the Sales and Marketing Regulation and Compliance Teams Ensure legal and regulatory compliance adheres to Bupa's Specialist Products and UK policies, and to internal operating procedures, ensuring that risk is managed in line within Bupa's UK's risk appetite. Be accountable for working with Sales and Marketing Regulation and Compliance Teams to identify, manage and mitigate conduct risks, financial crime risks, operational risks and data protection risks Take responsibility for successful outcomes of bids and tenders, using the expertise from within the wider Bupa / UKI organisation. Build Bupa's Leadership position across the Specialist segment whilst ensuring that Bupa UK's Risks appetite is met regarding conduct compliance and operational robustness. Lead the culture, planning and performance of the team Your experience and competencies A strong leader with in-depth knowledge and proven experience to lead and manage B2B Sales / Account Management Teams, ideally from Financial Services organisations in the health care sector. Proven experience of building and maintaining strong, long lasting customer relationships and maximising business opportunities through B2B. A strong, determined communicator and negotiator with experience of board level and SME selling, persuasion and negotiation In depth knowledge of successfully increasing revenue, profits and growth within B2B in a regulated environment such as the healthcare market. Proven track record of 'treating customers fairly' and delivering compliant sales within a regulatory environment is key. Credibility and gravitas to be viewed externally as the voice of Specialist Sales distribution in Bupa.
