About the role
About this role The School of Applied Sciences within the College of Health, Science and Society is seeking to recruit a Senior Lecturer in Human Genetics and Molecular Cell Biology to support our undergraduate and postgraduate Biological and Biomedical Science programmes. Research within the School is supported by the Centre for Biomedical Research (CBR), the Institute of Biosensing Technology (IBST), the Science Communication Unit (SCU) and the Centre for Sustainable Agri-Food and Environment (SAFE) . These centres offer you access to the latest world class facilities and expertise to continue to develop your career. About you Candidates will be expected to have at least a PhD in a relevant subject aligned to this area and ideally experience as a senior lecturer and as a module leader. Preference will be given to applicants who can evidence excellence and expertise in Human Genetics and Molecular Cell Biology (ideally including Genomics) teaching and research, as well as experience of successfully supporting undergraduate and postgraduate research projects in a higher education context. The post holder will be expected to contribute to teaching and assessing on our Biomedical and Biological science programs. An ability to acknowledge and communicate employability-related skills would be an advantage. The successful candidate is likely to be able to demonstrate experience of devising and delivering stimulating teaching and inclusive assessments; they will demonstrate the ability to lead modules well and successfully supervise student research projects. The successful candidate is expected to contribute to the continuous improvement of our Biomedical and Biological programmes. The successful candidate will be supported in this role by an experienced senior lecturer or associate professor in research as a mentor (as appropriate). Where you will be working In this role, you'll be based at our modern Frenchay Campus You'll spend most of your time on campus with the opportunity to work from home on the remaining days.
