- Working Conditions

No Job Description Summary Assists in maintaining university utility and mechanical systems by performing preventative, predictive, and routine maintenance on chillers, boilers, generators, auxiliary equipment, and other complex mechanical and electro-mechanical systems. Responsibilities also include maintaining and monitoring steam, remote steam boilers, hot water, and chilled water distribution systems, cooling towers, mechanical systems, and related chemical treatment processes. This position works four days per week, ten hours per day. Initial schedule will be Monday-Thursday during the training period. After training is complete, the schedule will transition to Sunday-Wednesday. Schedule modifications may be required to support 24/7/365 operational needs. Job Description Essential Duties Monitor campus steam, electrical, hot water, and chilled water systems. Perform predictive, preventative, and routine maintenance on chillers, generators, engines, fuel trains, and auxiliary equipment. Monitor and respond to engine, generator, and chiller plant alarms. Install new equipment and replace existing equipment as required. Troubleshoot malfunctioning equipment to determine required repairs, parts, materials, and supplies. Assist with maintaining steam, chilled water, and hot water distribution systems. Provide guidance and oversight to Utilities Systems Maintenance Assistants when needed. Report abnormal conditions to Operations Managers.
