Job Overview The EOD Specialist is responsible for the safe handling, integration, testing, and production of explosive materials and munitions in support of operational, developmental, and production programs. This role includes support to Electronic Safe and Arm Devices (ESAD) and Electronic Safe and Arm Firing (ESAF) systems, explosive test planning and execution, and munitions production activities. The position requires both CONUS and OCONUS support, including extended deployments in support of operational requirements. Essential Functions Explosive Operations/Material Handling Conduct safe handling, movement, preparation, and accountability of explosives, propellants, pyrotechnics, and associated energetic devices Oversee and account for explosive material in accordance with DoD and company standards. Assemble and integrate explosive components into aerospace subsystems under detailed technical procedures, work instructions, and engineering drawings. Analyze energetic explosive munitions Identify, recover, disarm, and dispose of unsafe explosive One Way Attack (OWA) platforms. Maintain and inspect equipment, vehicles, and technical data associated with explosive operations. Answer technical questions related to explosives, firing systems, and safety protocols. Energetic Systems Integration Support ESAD/ESAF system integration, testing, and safety validation, including hazard analysis and operational safety procedures. Provide explosive safety guidance and subject matter expertise for munition design, integration, and production activities. Read and interpret schematics, and technical data packages related to explosive systems and firing circuits. Develop and implement render safe procedures (RSPs) and safety protocols for explosive platforms. Energetic Test Support Support test ranges and field operations, including integration and live-fire support. Conduct and support explosive testing operations, including test setup, execution, data collection, and post-test analysis. Provide formal instruction on unexploded ordnance (UXO), explosive safety, and handling procedures to military and civilian personnel. Support munitions production operations, including explosive handling, assembly, and quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) processes. Prepare technical reports, safety documentation, and test summaries for internal and external stakeholders. Perform other duties as required. Ability to remain calm under stress Strong attention to detail. Ability to obtain an explosives driver's license. Education / Certifications High School degree required along with applicable military experience. Graduate of Naval School Explosive Ordnance Disposal (NAVSCOLEOD) Certifications in explosive handling (NAVSEA, USAF, or Army Equivalent)
