Job Title Wrapper Operator| Sunday - Thursday Position Overview This position is Sunday- Thursday 11pm-7am. Position Objective: To wrap finished rolls when assigned to ensure continuous flow of material. Essential Duties: (Considering job knowledge, job environment, effort, manipulative skill, judgment, safety knowledge and responsibility) - Wrap finished goods based on specifications on the Production Specification Sheet (reference TTR) - Apply barcode and information tickets to the outside of the poly wrap on the end of the roll Non-Essential Duties: (Considering job knowledge, job environment, effort, manipulative skill, judgment, safety knowledge and responsibility) - Position cores on the roll-up rollers - General housekeeping to maintain a clean and safe work environment - Perform other duties as directed by supervisor or plant management - Inspect rolls for any wet, wrinkled, or burned spots - refer to the quality inspection board for more defect types Education and Experience Requirements: - Experience in carpet manufacturing preferred Training Requirements: - On the job training during normal work hours, with qualified COJT (Certified on the Job Trainer) selected by the supervisor Physical Requirements: - Must be able to stand or walk for the majority of shift - Must be able to lift, push, pull and carry loads of up to 65 pounds without assistance - Must be able to bend, stoop, squat, grasp and reach frequently - Must be able to work in industrial environment with elevated noise levels, dust, dirt, humidity and temperature variations - Must participate in pre-shift stretching exercises Other Requirements: - Must be able to communicate effectively with supervisors and associates - Must be able to work well under pressure with the ability to meet deadlines - Must be able to comply with all plant policies - Must be able to recognize various types of defects - Must be able to perform tasks quickly and safely Shaw Employee Benefits: Health, Dental and Vision Insurance Health Savings Account Shaw Family Health and Dental Centers (Dalton & Cartersville) Behavioral and Mental Health Support Paid Time Off Bereavement and Holiday Pay Paid Parental Leave and Leave of Absence Pay Employee Discounts Career Development & Education Assistance 401K Retirement Savings Plan Disability & Life Insurance Financial and Retirement Planning Medical & Social Security Assistance And more!
