About the role

We are currently building our Research Team to support research in Tackling Antimicrobial Resistance in Remote Australia (TARRA). This is an exciting and unique time to join our expanding Research Team and work across meaning research addressing the rising threat of antimicrobial resistance in remote Australia. With an aim of strengthening the Remote Primary Health setting in the Northern Territory by working closely with the Chief Investigator and broader Research Team, the Research Fellow will be responsible for project implementation, project coordination, data collection, analysis of data, and the preparation of manuscripts for publication. The incumbent will also support the overall management of this collaborative research program comprising four research arms, project communications (internal team communications and external stakeholder communications), and the project's governance processes. You will also have the opportunity to: Actively contributing to the research project by collaborating with the Research Team to successfully deliver project milestones and Key Performance Indicators. Independently contributing to the planning and execution of research by offering new and innovative ideas, reviewing relevant literature and other sources of information, actively participating in the production of data, contributing to the writing and editing of grant applications and attending seminars, meetings and conferences. Independently contributing to ethical, high quality and innovative research and evaluation through activities such as scholarship, publishing in recognised high quality journals and assisting the preparation and submission of bids for external research funding. Supervision of honours and post graduate research projects. This position makes a significant contribution to the University's strategic plan to changing 10 million lives, Every One Matters, by 2035, through directly contributing to the strategic driver of Research that matters, supporting impactful, community-engaged research that improves health outcomes in rural and remote Australia. About You You are an experienced Health Researcher who has extensive experience managing and coordinating research projects, who is naturally innovative in your approach of qualitative and quantitative research methodology and evaluation of data affecting real communities. You hold a PhD in a health-related discipline (ideally in the Rural and Remote and/or Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health), highlighting your commitment to delivering meaningful outcomes for rural and remotes communities. You will strengthen our impact and support this Research Project by demonstrating: A practical understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health and Rural and Remote Health, alongside demonstrated research experience in terms of publications in high quality publications and presentations at a national and/or international level in the space of Rural and Remote Health or Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health research. Demonstrated well-developed interpersonal skills and experience in collaborating and engaging with diverse stakeholders and industry partners, and well and a mature ability to be an effective team member whilst working equally well autonomously Demonstrated experience to undertake collaborative research and establish and maintain effective relationships with staff and industry. Position Details Fixed Term - 3 Years | Open to either fulltime or part time (1FTE - 0.6FTE) Academic Level B | $115,871 - 137,122 p.a. (pro-rata if part time) Location: Arrernte - Alice Springs View Position Description Flinders Rural and Remote Health NT At Flinders Rural and Remote Health NT , our aim is to be a hub for innovative health research, education, and workforce development across the Northern Territory. We engage with students, community, and stakeholders to provide critical programs, such as the Northern Territory Medical Program, Paramedicine, Rural Clinical School, and the University Department of Rural Health. Our postgraduate education pathways (Remote Health Practice program), provides workforce development through Indigenous health and clinical skills training, and we have a community driven research program led by researchers committed to improving health outcomes. We work alongside Poche SA+NT focussing on Indigenous leadership capacity development and developing the Indigenous health workforce. All activities are driven by our values which focus on the long-term and short-term needs of the NT community.
