About the role

These positions are located in Huntsville & Lufkin Area Office under Texas State Office, USDA-Rural Development. Positions serve as key members of the State Director's staff participating in planning, development & implementation of rural development and assistance programs. As supervisor, provides administrative & technical guidance to a group of offices responsible for administering rural development programs. This vacancy announcement is open to current Rural Development Employees only. Time in Grade: Current federal employees applying for a promotion opportunity must meet time-in-grade (TIG) requirement of 52 weeks of service at the next lower grade level in the normal line of progression for the position being filled. TIG must be met by the closing date of this announcement. For the GS-13 level: Applicants must have 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-12; or its non-Federal equivalent that demonstrates: experience processing and servicing a full range of commercial and/or complex realty loans; servicing a loan portfolio of a bank or other loan association beyond consumer loans; or similar work which provided a knowledge and understanding of the technicalities of financing and credit of loan and/or grant programs. Experience must demonstrate use of judgment in providing financial management guidance to borrowers; ascertaining and analyzing borrower's financial capacity, and evaluating the general economic and financial conditions that affect the organization risk in granting, guaranteeing, or insuring the loan; and demonstrated leadership experience providing guidance and direction to a group of employees in processing and servicing loans and/or grant programs.
