Responsibilities
- Essential Job Functions & Tasks
- Perform cleaning work and washdown on the coal conveyor system, such as car dumpers, bunkers, runways, tripper room, belt decks, and tunnels.
- Load, unload and handle coal, materials, and equipment; where required, couple and uncouple railroad cars; haul and move materials, supplies and equipment; cleaning work of all kinds in, around, and on equipment, buildings, and yard; clean and remove ashes and debris; work on tracks and track beds.
- Operate and assist in performing maintenance on all coal yard related equipment.
- Clean and perform lubrication on all equipment including conveyors, pumps, large motors and gearboxes and mobile equipment.
- Learn to inspect and test fire equipment and properly document tests.
- Demonstrate basic knowledge of industrial processes and systems.
- Assist issuing clearances, clearing and tagging equipment and holding clearance permits.
- Prepare and maintain records as required.
- Depth Perception: Ability to judge distance and space relationships.
