BIM Coordinator

About the role

SMITECH is seeking an experienced BIM Coordinator to support BIM modelling, coordination and digital project documentation for a major Civil and M&E construction / infrastructure project in the East of Singapore. This role will work closely with the BIM Manager, project team, consultants, subcontractors and site coordination teams to prepare, update and coordinate Civil, Structural, Architectural and M&E BIM models, resolve clashes, support drawing production and maintain accurate BIM documentation throughout the project lifecycle. This project role is to be based on site on a 5.5-day work week. SMITECH is an established M&E contractor involved in mega national projects with a rapidly growing presence across Singapore. We are actively expanding our operations and are inviting experienced, driven M&E and Civil engineering personnel to join our ranks for new and existing projects.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, update and coordinate BIM models for Civil, Structural, Architectural and M&E project scopes.
• Support BIM coordination meetings with consultants, subcontractors, site teams and internal project stakeholders.
• Carry out model checking, clash detection and coordination using relevant BIM software.
• Assist in resolving design, model and drawing coordination issues before site execution.
• Produce and update BIM drawings, shop drawings, combined services drawings, sections, details and as-built documentation.
• Ensure BIM models and drawings are maintained in accordance with project standards, naming conventions, BIM Execution Plan and submission requirements.
• Coordinate model information with latest approved drawings, site changes, RFIs, technical submissions and consultant comments.
• Maintain proper BIM records, drawing registers, model revisions and coordination logs.
• Work closely with site teams to support construction sequencing, installation planning and technical coordination.
• Support authority, client, consultant and handover documentation where required.

Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in Building, Civil Engineering, Mechanical / Electrical Engineering, Architecture, BIM, Construction Management or related discipline.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant BIM coordination experience in construction, Civil, M&E or infrastructure projects.
• Proficient in BIM software such as Autodesk Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD and related coordination tools.
• Able to coordinate Civil, Structural, Architectural and M&E models and identify design or site coordination conflicts.
• Good understanding of BIM coordination workflows, clash detection, shop drawing production and as-built model updates.
• Familiar with common data environment, drawing control, model revision control and project documentation practices.
• Able to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, construction details and project documentation.
• Strong coordination, communication, problem-solving and documentation skills.
• Able to work independently while coordinating closely with consultants, subcontractors, site teams and project management.
• Prior experience in Singapore infrastructure, transport, utilities, MRT/LTA-related, large-scale commercial, industrial or public-sector projects will be an advantage.
