About the role
Total Wine & More is seeking a Vice President, Project Management Office (PMO) & Change Management to join our Enterprise Strategy team in our Bethesda, MD office. This position is responsible for ensuring the company's highest-priority strategic initiatives are delivered on time, on budget, and with measurable business impact-while driving enterprise-wide adoption of change. This role leads the enterprise Project Management Office and change management capability to translate strategy into execution, orchestrate multiple large-scale cross-functional initiatives (e.g., merchandising, marketing, stores, digital, supply chain, IT), and build disciplined delivery and change adoption practices across the organization. This position reports to the Chief Strategy Officer. You will Own enterprise delivery excellence and portfolio governance for top-tier strategic initiatives, including enterprise transformations, customer flywheel, data governance, forecasting optimization, branded credit card/loyalty, and other strategic priorities. Partner with the CEO, CSO, and executive leadership team to translate enterprise strategy into executable roadmaps with clear prioritization, sequencing, ownership, resourcing, and decision rights. Design and lead a modern, pragmatic PMO that is execution-focused, establishing consistent governance rhythms, initiative tiers, tools, templates, dashboards, and executive/Board reporting. Standardize program management practices across the enterprise, including initiative charters, milestone planning, risk management, dependency tracking, escalation protocols, and value realization plans. Serve as a neutral cross-functional orchestrator across Stores, Merchandising, Supply Chain, Digital, Marketing, HR, Communications, and other functions to prevent silos, duplication, and execution bottlenecks. Build and institutionalize enterprise-wide change management capabilities, including communication, training, adoption tracking, engagement strategies, feedback loops, and reinforcement of new ways of working across ~300+ stores and HQ. Define, track, and report business outcomes beyond milestones, including sales lift, margin improvement, productivity gains, adoption metrics, and overall impact realization. Drive a culture of execution discipline and accountability by identifying and resolving risks early, conducting post-implementation reviews, ensuring benefits realization, and building program management and change leadership talent across the enterprise. Proven experience leading enterprise PMOs and large cross-functional initiatives. Strong knowledge of project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, Hybrid). PMP, PgMP, PMI-ACP, or related certifications preferred. Demonstrated success managing complex portfolios and organizational transformation programs. Strong communication and ability to influence in dynamic and agile environments. Strong executive leadership and strategic thinking skills with experience in organizational change management. Experience navigating risk management and governance within complex project and delivery models. Proven success with delivering on-time and on-budget project outcomes, portfolio ROI management, and excellent resource allocation skills.
