We combine cutting-edge techniques-like price elasticity modeling, bid price strategies, and advanced ML-to optimize pricing decisions for millions of customers. We're looking for a Senior Data Scientist - Operations Research with a strong background in mathematical optimization, machine learning and related fields with both a solid theoretical foundation as well as a proven track record successfully applying these methods in a practical setting. The ideal candidate will also have revenue management expertise, for example hands-on experience in dynamic pricing and bid price optimization, and have worked in (or closely with) the airline or car rental industry. YOUR ROLE AT SIXT You Revenue Management & Price Optimization Design, develop, and deploy advanced revenue management systems focusing on dynamic pricing and bid price optimization strategies You Operations Research Modeling Formulate and solve complex optimization problems (linear, nonlinear, dynamic, stochastic) to maximize revenue and support key decision-making processes You Demand Forecasting & Customer Willingness-to-Pay Create and refine forecasting models using time series and machine learning methods to capture customer demand and willingness-to-pay You Algorithm & Tool Development Build and maintain robust algorithms that integrate seamlessly with production systems, ensuring efficiency and scalability You Cross-Functional Collaboration Work closely with product managers, data engineers, and software developers to deploy end-to-end solutions and continuously improve analytical models You Thought Leadership Stay current on the latest research in revenue management, operations research, and machine learning. Provide mentorship and guidance to junior team members YOUR SKILLS MATTER Experience 5+ years in data science and operations research roles, ideally in car rental, airlines, or similar travel and hospitality sectors Technical Background Strong background in mathematical optimization (linear, nonlinear, integer programming), solvers, and algorithm design including dynamic and stochastic programming Knowledge Poficient in demand forecasting, time series modeling, and modern ML techniques, especially regression Tools & Systems Expertise in Python for data analysis, modeling, and production deployment, and are familiar with version control systems such as Git Analytical Mindset Able to translate complex business problems into actionable analytical tasks and communicate findings clearly to a variety of audiences Education Master's degree or higher in Operations Research, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, or a related quantitative field - experience with revenue management systems, pricing strategies, and bid price optimization is a strong plus
