The Job: The Maintenance & Facilities Manager assures the optimal functioning of building systems, including HVAC, mechanical, fire/life safety, elevators, power, etc. They also manage facilities upkeep/maintenance vendors for grounds maintenance, general building/office cleaning, trash removal, snow removal, cardboard recycling, etc. and respond to annual EH&S, FM Global, and Risk Management audit requirements in a timely manner. Working as an on-site employee. You'll get to: Manage Plant facilities, including coaching others to success and conducting employee performance appraisals. Set the stage for the best practice sharing, i.e., benchmarking against other companies, preparing any tools, materials, etc. in such a way that they are applicable across the business. Oversee the management of both the skilled trades department and the tool crib. Maintain a facilities preventive maintenance program within the confines of an annual budget. Oversee contractors for facility renovation and other projects entailing HVAC, electrical, production floor arrangements, mechanical maintenance, removal of unused equipment, fork truck fleets, etc. Responsible for plant fleet vehicle maintenance and oversight of approved driver program. Maintain plan for fire evacuation and disaster response. Serve as a facility Emergency Response Coordinator. Work with management to review design changes, equipment specifications/substitutions, and purchasing requirements related to facilities. Maintain up-to-date records for all state, federal, and insurance semi-annual and annual inspections. Work closely with the Environmental Health & Safety and Security functions to fulfill Roadmap and resource requirements. Support tooling requirements for all metalworking dies, sharpening, heat treating dies, etc. as needed. Comply with all Plant Environmental Health & Safety policies and Environmental and OSHA regulatory requirements. In fact, you embrace it. You also have: High School degree or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree preferred. Knowledge of facilities maintenance and requirements within an industrial setting. Familiarity with manufacturing environment. Demonstrated prior experience in a significant managerial role supporting operations. Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing concepts. Strong project planning skills and organizational skills. Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, with diverse audiences. Computer literate and proficient with Microsoft Office programs and Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) programs. Understanding and support of Company policies and procedures.
