Location 680 Lake Shore Drive Job Description General Summary: The Technical Writer for Revenue Cycle Innovation defines and standardizes the strategy for effective communication across revenue cycle. They collaborate with revenue cycle operations and information management to ensure they understand requirements. They partner with subject matter experts to ensure the finished documentation is easy to understand and meets the stated need. The technical writer produces novel or revised documentation that is accurate, concise, consistent, and polished. Essential Job Functions: Write and/or edit document artifacts such as policies and procedures, work breakdown structures, standard operating procedures, operational training guides, job aids, reference tools and executive level presentations. Work closely with revenue cycle leadership to understand content requirements and objectives for assigned initiatives. Lead content specific brainstorming and review sessions to design, create, refine and gain approval for all content created. Create and revise workflow diagrams to document existing processes and proposed workflows, ensuring revenue cycle standards are met. Deliver content that is accurate, cohesive, and engaging to the right audience at the right time. Participate in annual revenue cycle strategic planning to develop documentation and communication plans that support revenue cycle goals. Complete annual review of all documentation in collaboration with the revenue cycle leadership team. Work effectively with all staff, including providers, senior executives, operational leadership, and front-line staff. Collaborate closely with information management. Develop and maintain relationships that encourage feedback and a growth mindset. Demonstrate effective issue resolution and conflict management skills reinforcing a team-focused, solution-oriented culture. Pursue professional opportunities and maintain networks that enhance professional knowledge, advancement, and excellence. Other job functions as assigned. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Bachelor's degree required; English, Communications or Organizational Development preferred. Three years technical writing or content creation required. One year experience in a healthcare setting preferred. Excellent writing, grammer and spelling. Experience with data analysis and ability to use graphics, as well as words, to communicate ideas. Effective communication, conflict resolution and problem resolution skills, including facilitation of groups and expert presentation skills. Effective listening skills to understand various perspectives, synthesize findings, establish common goals, and achieve results. Excellent analytical and process/systems thinking skills required. Demonstrated skills in the use of project, excel, visio, power point, and other Microsoft Office products. Excellent interpersonal skills, including ability to understand and articulate the needs of the stakeholders and assist them in making the necessary decisions to accomplish their objectives. Ability to work in a deadline conscious, results driven environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Education Pay Range $59,280.00-$96,928.00 Salary At Lurie Children's, we are committed to competitive and fair compensation aligned with market rates and internal equity, reflecting individual contributions, experience, and expertise. The pay range for this job indicates minimum and maximum targets for the position. Ranges are regularly reviewed to stay aligned with market conditions.
