We now have an exciting opportunity available for an Operations and Maintenance Technician - Electrical to join us in our Power & Electricity Transmission team in Port Hedland on a Permanent Full Time Basis. Reporting to the Plant Manager - Port Hedland, you will be responsible for operating, maintaining and repairing plant equipment and assets to ensure safe and reliable operations. This includes conducting inspections, troubleshooting faults, completing preventative maintenance, and coordinating repairs to minimise downtime and maximise asset performance.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine preventative and corrective maintenance on power station equipment, including gas turbines, generators, BESS and solar assets.
- Monitor and operate the power station through SCADA systems, responding to alarms, faults and operational events as required.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical, control and instrumentation faults to ensure safe and reliable plant operation.
- Conduct instrumentation calibrations, equipment inspections and maintenance activities to optimise asset performance and minimise downtime.
- Manage contractors on site through the Permit to Work system, ensuring all work is completed safely and in compliance with site procedures.
- Your background
- Electrical Trade qualification with relevant experience in power generation, utilities, mining, oil & gas or heavy industry environments.
- Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting skills across electrical, control and instrumentation systems.
- Experience operating and monitoring industrial plant equipment using SCADA or similar control systems.
- Sound understanding of safety procedures, risk management and Permit to Work systems.
- Ability to work independently, prioritise maintenance activities and respond effectively to operational issues in a fast-paced environment.
