Areas of Responsibility and Key Tasks Planning, Teaching and Learning Inspire students to become confident, capable and enthusiastic swimmers. Plan and deliver high-quality swimming lessons for students across Primary and selected Secondary year groups. Maintain a safe, stimulating and effective learning environment in and around the pool. Liaise with swim coaches and teachers to ensure effective support for all learners. Support students with additional educational needs and those learning English as an additional language Develop and maintain appropriate learning resources and equipment. Promote high standards of behaviour, participation and safety. Swimming Programme Leadership Develop and lead a progressive swimming pathway and competitive swimming programme. Lead before-school and after-school squad training sessions. Organise squad trials, selections and competition entries. Actively seek and coordinate participation in competitions and meets. Communicate clearly and effectively with parents regarding the swimming programme. Generate enthusiasm for swimming and inspire students to achieve their potential. Contribute to the wider sporting life of the school. Tracking, Assessment, Recording, Reporting Assess, monitor and record student progress in line with school expectations. Use assessment information to inform planning and support student development. Provide accurate and timely reports to students, parents and colleagues. Maintain appropriate records of participation, achievement and performance. Student Care, Guidance and Safeguarding Promote and safeguard the welfare of all students. Ensure swimming activities operate in accordance with risk assessments and school procedures. Monitor pool safety and report maintenance concerns promptly. Foster a positive, inclusive and supportive environment for all students. Work collaboratively with colleagues to support student wellbeing and development. Health, Safety and Professional Development Contribute to risk assessments, policies and operational procedures. Support staff training in lifesaving, emergency procedures and pool safety.
