Responsibilities

- Responsible for the control and implementation of the power system defence mechanisms including load reduction, emergency load shedding and under frequency load shedding.
- Actively participate in business and organisational change such that the performance, productivity and service standards of the Operations business are maintained and/or improved.
- Approve and Control all outage and network access requests ensuring risk to network and system security is minimised.
- Complete all associated statutory reports and paperwork for Network incidents.
- Actively monitor outage requests to minimise effect on system and targets.
- Co-ordinate outage planning and liaison with internal/external third parties for all network activities.
- Actively support the provision of operational data such that operational IT systems are accurate e.g. SOP/OR.
Requirements
- Expert knowledge of SP Energy Networks policies, procedures and working practices.
- Expert knowledge of health, safety and environmental legislation.
- Awareness of network development policies and procedures.
- Developed customer service skills.
- Knowledge of network and business data and SCADA network management systems.
- Innovative in applying the latest technologies.
- Contract & SLA management and general commercial & regulatory awareness.
- Developed negotiation, communication, influencing and people management skills.
- Ability to devise solutions to complex problems/challenges.
- Experience in a line management role.
- Broad operational experience preferred, e.g. spanning Distribution / Transmission and possibly Generation.
- Well-developed consultation, negotiation and influencing skills.
