Job Posting Job Title: Dockmaster Department: Loggerhead Palm Beach Gardens Marina Reports To: General Manager Position Summary The Dockmaster is frequently the first point of contact for guests arriving at the marina by vessel. This role serves as a hands-on leader responsible for overseeing all dock operations and ensuring an exceptional customer experience. Key responsibilities include coordinating dockhand schedules, communicating with vessel captains, managing reservations, maintaining marina safety and cleanliness standards, overseeing fuel operations, delivering premier guest and concierge services, training new employees, and helping secure the marina and vessels during severe weather events. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Delivers and promotes exceptional customer service while responding promptly and professionally to vessel and guest requests. Coordinates, schedules, and supervises dockhands in the performance of marina operations, including vessel docking and securing, fueling services, black water pump-outs, utility hook-ups and monitoring, and waste management activities. Provides leadership through example and active participation. Conducts routine inspections of docks and marina facilities. Collaborate with the General Manager to schedule repairs, preventative maintenance, and improvements necessary to uphold safety, operational efficiency, and cleanliness standards. Regularly motorized vehicles operate, along with a variety of mechanical equipment utilized in marina operations. Education and Experience Comprehensive knowledge of marina operations, including boat handling, towing procedures, vessel lifting, and equipment maintenance. Demonstrated ability to lead, supervise, and motivate team members effectively. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to provide outstanding service in a luxury hospitality environment. Working knowledge of marina-related documents and operational requirements, including contracts, agreements, terms and conditions, and marina rules and regulations. Working Conditions / Physical Requirements Must be capable of independently lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling up to 30 pounds. Must be able to swim or be willing to wear a personal flotation device (PFD) when emergency situations require it. Must be able to frequently perform fine motor tasks, grasping, repetitive arm and hand movements, and occasionally perform squeezing motions and overhead reaching. Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively, providing accurate instructions and direction to team members and guests when necessary.
